This is really an example of what NOT to do around wildlife. I was about 150 feet away using a long lens to take this photograph. The park service recommends a minimum of 100 ft distance from bull elk during rut season because they can and do become extremely territorial and aggressive and they get ready to breed. These people were in a seriously dangerous position.
